Vanesa Garrido

Vanesa Garrido was born in Ourense (Spain) in 1990 and was brought up in Vigo (Galicia) where she studied secondary school. She moved to Tarragona where she started her Degree in Biotechnology at Rovira i Virgili University.

In the last year of her Degree, she carried out the research project: “Study of the expression of immune genes Mediterranean Mussel” under the supervision of Dr. Beatriz Novoa at the Instituto de Investigaciones Marinas de Vigo.  In 2011, Vanesa studied at the Institute Universitaire de Technologie-Université Montpellier-2 under the ERASMUS Exchange Programme.

In 2013, Vanesa obtained her Bachelor in Biotechnology and started a postgraduate study in Nanosciencie and Molecular Nanotechnology at Autonomous University of Madrid. During the master, she carried out the project: “Synthesis of amphiphilic phthalocyanines for incorporation into lipid bilayers” under the supervision of Dr. Gema de la Torre and Dr. Marisela Vélez at Nanosciencie and Molecular Materials Research Group headed by Professor Tomas Torres.
