Michaela Barancokova

Michaela Barančoková was born in 1991 in Liberec, Czech Republic. In 2010, she graduated from gymnasium focused on natural science. In the same year, she started studying at Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové. During her studies she attended several internships, e.g. one-month practice in the community pharmacy in Helsinki, Finland (2013) or Erasmus+ program in Ljubljana, Slovenia (2014-2015). There, at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Ljubljana, she worked at her diploma thesis “Characterisation of gyrase inhibitors using ITC and enzymatic assay”. Thesis was successfully defended in 2015 and she obtained her master’s degree. In October 2015, she started her research work and doctoral studies within ITN Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action project “Discovery of novel gyrase B and gyrase B/topoisomerase IV (ParE) dual inhibitors with in vitro antibacterial activity” at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, supervised by prof. dr. Danijel Kikelj.
